It can. Most teams keep Honeypot as a cheap first line and put NoBotIQ behind it — the hybrid mode catches what Honeypot misses and you get a much better result than reCAPTCHA v3 alone because there's no score threshold to tune. If spam pressure is low, NoBotIQ on its own is usually enough.
The module falls back to fail-open by default (form passes through, a watchdog warning is logged) so no real user ever sees a blank error. You can change the fallback per-form and require human review when the API call times out.
